Valarie has been on the makeup scene for three years. A part-time makeup artist at Sephora, she also freelances out of her home studio. Her work and booking can be found at valleyjaycosmetics.com.
Valarie enjoys being able to enhance the beauty of others and the artistic aspects of makeup. Empowering women by making them feel more beautiful is something she has always wanted to be a part of.
What makes Valarie good at what she does? Simply, she loves her work. She loves helping women build confidence and self-esteem, and what better way is there to do that than through makeup artistry?!
Valarie plans to continue working as a makeup artist, but she also has her own cosmetic line, launched March 10th 2017, so be on the lookout for that! It will be a luxury line of Cosmetics filled with lashes, lip products, and unique makeup tools.
Valarie was encouraged to become a makeup artist by Joy Loveless, another local artist. The two met while Valerie was still in high school, before she began her journey with makeup artistry. Loveless selflessly helped her and was extremely detailed about how Valarie should go about pursuing her dreams. They would go over proper skin care, brushes and makeup application. Loveless encouraged her by saying that she could master her craft if she put in the work, so that’s just what Valarie did.
